PUERTO VALLARTA Villas - FAQs
Q: How do I get to Punta Mita Four Season area?
A: Following your booking we will furnish directions to the house
for your convenience in instructing the taxi driver. We can also
arrange to have a private driver pick you up, although the cost
is higher.
Q: How far is the house from the
beach? From Puerto Vallarta? From the Airport?
A: The beach is a ten minute walk down the hill. Downtown Puerto
Vallarta is a ten minute taxi ride or a fifteen minute bus ride
(buses run every fifteen minutes until 11:00 PM). You can call a
taxi to pick you up at the house or catch a taxi or a bus from the
bottom of the hill to downtown Puerto Vallarta. The airport is thirty
minutes away by taxi.
Q: Is it easy
to get to Puerto Vallarta? How long is the flight?
A: It's very easy. There are direct flights from many cities including
San Francisco (3 hours), Los Angeles (2 hours) and New York (6 1/2
hours). Flights do tend to book early, though, so try to plan in
advance.
Q: Should I rent
a car?
A: Taxis and buses are plentiful and the cost of using them quite
liberally is normally less than that of renting a car. Feel free
to rent a car, though, if you wish; PUERTO VALLARTA Villas has parking for
one car or van.
Q: Will the staff
cook for us.
A: Yes. There is a cook who will prepare two meals per day (your
choice of which ones). Most guests eat breakfast and lunch at the
house, preferring to go out at night, but dinner can be arranged
in place of either breakfast or lunch if you wish. Remember that
the cost of food, beverages, and taxi fare when staff needs to make
shopping trips is paid by you. We recommend that you give the chef/
cook $200 - $300 at the beginning of your stay, and coordinate from
there. They will keep a detailed list of all expenses and true up
with you regularly.
Q: How far in
advance should I book?
A: You should make reservations 3 - 6 months ahead of your arrival
date during the high season, but don't hesitate to email us if your
date is closer. We'll do our best to accommodate you.
Q: Do we have
to pay full rent if we don't need all of the bedrooms?
A: Not necessarily. PUERTO VALLARTA Villas can be rented at a reduced rate
when you do not use all the bedrooms. Please always inquire.
Q: If we do not
book all the bedrooms in a villa will someone else (i.e. strangers)
be using those bedrooms and sharing the house?
A: Absolutely not. You are renting the entire villa and you never
have to share a villa with anyone other than those in your party.
Q: Does a weekly
rental always start on the same day each week?
A: You can arrive on any day of the week, as long as the villa is
available. Since time share rentals normally create congestion at
the airport from Saturday to Saturday, it is often easier to travel
on days other than Saturday, and flights tend to be more available.
Q: What is your
deposit and cancellation policy?
A: Click on the Rental Rates page on this website for information.
Q: How many guests
can we have?
A: As many as are stipulated at the time of rental, normally subject
to a maximum of eight. If more people arrive than were agreed upon,
an additional charge of $50 per person per night may apply, or
they may be denied occupancy.
Q: Are children
welcome in all the rentals?
A: Yes.
Q: Can we bring
our pets?
A: No pets allowed.
Q: What about
the telephone?
A: Local calls are free. Long distance calls from Mexico are quite
expensive; you will need to purchase a phone card to make long distance
calls from the house.
Q: What about
Laundry?
A: There is a washer and a dryer. Staff will perform basic maid
service for your room daily. Towels, sheets and soap are provided.
If you ask the maid to do a load of personal laundry, it is customary
to tip her three to five dollars depending on the size of the load.
Q: Does the house
have a stereo? TV? DVD player? Internet access?
A: Yes.
Q: Are rental
rates guaranteed?
A: Your rental rate is guaranteed only when the agreed upon rental
payment is received. PUERTO VALLARTA Villas reserves the right to change
any rental rates at its discretion.
Q: Who should
I contact in the event of an emergency?
A: The housekeeper can contact a doctor (English-speaking if necessary)
in case of a medical emergency.
Q: Do I tip the staff?
A: It is customary to tip the house staff (maid, chef/cook) but
not necessary to tip the housekeeper/administrator. Click on the
Rental Rates page for more information.
