Scuba Diving at Chimo
Chimo is a spectacular dive site about 26 miles from Puerto Vallarta along the southern coast of Banderas Bay. Here the ocean floor has formed into distinct and interesting formations. Torrecillas is an undersea plateau, from which a series of separate pinnacles rise like trees uprooted to gain light. Las Iglesias is a line of columns that also rise straight from the sea bed like supports for an ancient sunken cathedral. Huge schools of fish, healthy invertebrates, and Giant Manta encounters are typical of Chimo. Only divers with 30 logged dives can apply for this trip.
Duration of the Activity : 6.5 Hours
Runs : Daily from 9.00AM to 3.30PM (Minimum group of 5 divers)
Departs From : Marina Vallarta. Detailed instructions will be provided with Tour Resevation.
- - The clients must show up at 9:00 am in the lobby of Villa-Vera Hotel in Marina Vallarta, at the end of the bus station of the marina.
- - The client must show the ticket of the agency or the seller, before boarding the ship in the Hotel Villa-Vera port.
- - The diving classes Schedule is open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- - All our tours include: Water, soda, and sandwiches.
- - For every 4 certified divers or participants, will be one dive master or one instructor.
Medical conditions :
- To participate in our diving programs, divers need to be certified and hold a valid certification card.
- Non-certified divers need to have completed a resort course (scuba lesson in the pool) at least one day before their dive.
- Beginner divers can participate in one or two dives at Los Arcos.
- All the participants must sign a liability release form prior their open water dive.
- All the non-certified divers will need to fill out a medical form to see if there is no medical condition preventing the person from practicing this activity.
- Pregnant women cannot participate.
- If you are having the following medical conditions, you will need a signed approval from your Physician, in order to participate.
- Asthma(active)
- High or Low Blood pressure or take medications to control blood pressure
- Pneumothorax(collapse lungs)
- Diabetes
- Ear infection or ears drum rupture
- History of chest surgery
- History of heart attack or stroke
- Epilepsy or take medications to prevent it
